15.3.2020

Dear Colleagues,

As you are aware, the temporary appointment of teachers on ad-hoc basis cannot be terminated before the end of the semester in which it is made or continued (copy of 1996 University circular is attached).

Further, the 5th December Record of Discussion, Clause 2 stipulates: "it is expected that all ad-hoc teachers worked or working in the current academic year shall be continued till recruitment of permanent faculty".

We appeal to you to ensure that extension letters for another four months are issued to all ad-hoc teachers in your college.

This is necessary to ensure smooth functioning of the college in terms of teaching-learning processes, submission of internal assessment, invigilation duties, allotment of duties for the next semester etc.

We further appeal that ad-hoc teachers should not face any discrimination in terms of various measures adopted by your College in light of the University circular dated 12.3.2020 regarding preventive measures to be adopted by institutions to fight COVID-19.

With regards,

Enclosures:
