Sub:    DUTA Response to the Gazette Notification of UGC Regulations 2018 


Sir,

At the outset Delhi University Teachers’ Association thanks you whole-heartedly for notifying the UGC Regulations 2018 in the Gazette of India on July 18, 2018. DUTA deliberated in detail and has prepared a detailed response to CAS 2018 enclosed with this letter which is as follows:


1.      A detailed feedback on the different aspects of the UGC Regulations 2018, including pending cases of promotions, direct recruitment, career advancement scheme, issues of leave, parity of Librarians and Other Academic Staff with teachers and other issues, highlighting the problems and the adverse conditions in the UGC Regulations 2018. 

2.      A clause-by-clause response to CAS 2018 with proposed amendments of relevant clauses in order to do away with the negative features of the Regulations and thus to minimize the hardships of teachers. 

We submit these two documents pertaining to CAS 2018 for your kind perusal and request you to consider our suggestions favourably so that the Regulations become more enabling for every sections of teachers.
