Subject: Regarding collection of Relief Fund for Kerala

Dear Professor Tyagi,

As you know, the flood situation in Kerala continues to be grim. Reportedly, nearly 187 lives have been lost and many more remain missing  as the State faces worst flood devastation. Over 2 lakh people have been displaced.

The DUTA has appealed to teachers, non-teaching staff and students to donate generously to extend help and solidarity to people faced with this natural catastrophe.

We also appeal to the University to give a call to its employees to donate a day's salary. Colleges may be asked to transfer employees' contributions to the Relief Fund set up by the Government of Kerala.

Regards
