Press Invite for People's March from Mandi House to Parliament Street, 28 March

Dear Friends from Media,

DUTA & FEDCUTA are holding People's March tomorrow, 28 March from Mandi House to Parliament Street, 12:30 pm. Students and teachers from across Universities and colleges will participate in the Rally in Defence of Public Funded Higher Education. The DUTA has also invited trade union bodies, women organizations, leaders of political groups and Members of Parliament to join us to express solidarity. This is to fight against the systemic changes in funding which the Government is implementating through HEFA, Tripartite MOUs, Categorisation of Universities and grant if Financial Autonomy to public funded institutions of repute. Teachers are also protesting downgrading of teaching profession through retrograde recommendations of the 7th Pay Revision Notification of 2.11.2017 and the UGC Draft Regulations of 9.3.2018.

We appeal to you to join the Rally and give it coverage. Please send photo- journalists to cover the event.

Regards

Rajib Ray
President, DUTA
Vivek Chaudhary
Secretary, DUTA
