FEDCUTA Press Release on Viswa Bharati, Nov 23, 2017

FEDCUTA Press Release on Viswa Bharati, Nov 23, 2017

Visva-Bharati, one of the premier educational institutions of India, was founded by Rabindranath Tagore in 1921 and granted the status of Central University and an institution of national importance by an Act of Parliament in 1951. It has been witnessing a lot of turmoil in recent times. The Visva-Bharati University Faculty Association (VBUFA) has been demanding an immediate removal of the current officiating VC and a time-bound impartial CBI enquiry on allegations of corruption and financial and administrative irregularities against the officiating VC. The VBUFA office bearers have decided to postpone their protest demonstration scheduled originally on 24.11.2017 at the MHRD after the HRD Minister, Shri. Prakash Javadekar, telephonically assured them that a new VC will be appointed very soon. The FEDCUTA stands in complete solidarity with the demands of the VBUFA and urges the HRD Minister to look into this matter on an urgent basis.

Please find attached the VBUFA Press Release and other documents.
