Dear Sir/Madam,

Sub:     DUTA Dharna outside Delhi Vidhan Sabha on 31.10.2017 from 12:00 Noon to 2:00 PM

As you are aware, there has been a continued stand off for the past few months between Delhi University and Delhi Government over formation of Governing bodies of 28 colleges that are funded by the Delhi Government. This crisis has escalated on a massive scale resulting in the stopping of salaries of both teaching and non-teaching staff working in these colleges.

The DUTA had previously written to officials of both the Delhi University and Delhi Government demanding an immediate resolution to this stalemate. In this context, a delegation of the DUTA met the Vice Chancellor of Delhi University on 12.10.2017 and the Deputy CM of Delhi Govt, Sri Manish Sisodia, on 16.10.2017. The Deputy CM was requested to remove the freeze on the grant of these colleges and give interim relief for the funds required tp pay salaries. However, nothing has materialised so far.

The DUTA has resolved to hold a Protest Dharna outside the Delhi Vidhan Sabha on Tuesday, 31.10.2017 from 12 PM to 2 PM. We appeal to all teachers to stand by our suffering colleagues in this hour of need and participate in the Dharna in large numbers..
With regards,

Rajib Ray
President, DUTA
Vivek Chaudhary
Secretary, DUTA
