                      DUTA Press Release: 27 September 2019 DUTA Executive Election of Office-Bearers and Co-Options Completed for Term 2017-19 The DUTA Executive elected new office-bearers and co-opted five new members to complete its composition and offices under the leadership of the newly-elected DUTA President, Rajib Ray. Dr. Jaswinder Singh, Principal of SGTB Khalsa College and former DUTA Vice-President, presided over the elections, held today. This completes the formation of the DUTA Executive that will hold term for the next two years. Sudhanshu Kumar from Swami Shraddhanand College was elected Vice-President and Vivek Chaudhary from Sri Aurobindo College (Evening) was elected Secretary of the DUTA. Alok Ranjan Pandey from Ramanujan College was elected Jt. Secretary and Najma Rehmani from Dept. of Urdu, Arts Faculty was elected Treasurer of the DUTA. Thousands of teachers Court Arrest on Teachers' Day to mark protest against anti-student and anti-teacher Government policies More than five thousand teachers from Central and State Universities and Colleges across the country converged in Delhi on 5th September to celebrate Teachers' Day in a unique way -  by courting Arrest under the banner of AIFUCTO and FEDCUTA. They were protesting against the non- declaration of the Chauhan Pay Review Committee Report that was submitted to MHRD more than six months ago. The PRC,  that deals not only with pay revision,  but with all aspects of teachers' service conditions,  including permanent recruitment,  promotions and pension,  is expected to have made positive recommendations to address the grievances of teachers regarding contractualisation  and adhocism of services,  denial of promotions and pension.  However,  in an unprecedented move,  the Govt has refused to make the report public.  Apart from reiter
