DUTA PRESS RELEASE: 30.09.2014

Press Release: 30 September 2014

The DUTA strongly condemns the action of the Principal of Swami Shraddhanand College, in going off on leave without releasing the salary of six ad-hoc teachers who have been working in the college, despite a categorical assurance to the representatives of the Staff Association. What is even more shocking is that he has denied salary to the teachers without even informing the Chairman of the Governing Body about this move.

The DUTA stands in solidarity with the Staff Association of Swami Shraddhanand College in their struggle for justice for these ad-hoc teachers. The DUTA also demands that the recommendation of the Teaching Post Committee for calculation of requirement of posts for various departments, in keeping with University norms for tutorial/practical size be honoured by the Governing Body, and action be taken against the Principal for bypassing this committee and taking arbitrary decisions in this regard.

Please also find attached the Press Release issued by the Staff Association of Swami Shraddhanand College.
