DUTA Letter to Staff Associations: 25.09.2021 To President/Secretary/Office bearers Staff Association _____ _____ 25.9.2021 Dear colleagues,  This is in continuation of the DUTA letter of 20.8.2021 regarding DUTA Elections 2021. We are glad to inform that Professor Ujjwal Singh, Department of Political Science has become Election Officer for the forthcoming DUTA Elections.  A meeting of the DUTA Executive meeting was held on 24.9.2021 along with the Election Officer to draw (1) Schedule of the Election (2) List of Institutions/Departments which will participate in the Elections (3) categories of teaching and academic staff who shall participate in the elections and (4) format of the Elections keeping in mind the COVID Safety protocols, secrecy  and fairness.  The DUTA Elections will be held on 26 November 2021 by observing COVID safety protocols.  Please find enclosed: ( 1) Schedule of the DUTA Elections 2021 . DUTA Office Bearers meet the UGC Officials The DUTA Office Bearers met UGC Officials today. Present in the meeting were Prof Rajnish Jain, Secretary, Shri P K Thakur, Financial Advisor, Prof J K Tripathi, Joint Secretary and Prof N. Gopukumar, Joint Secretary.  The following issues were raised: 1) The DUTA Office Bearers reiterated  the demand for a One-Time Regulation for the Absorption of over 4000 teachers who are working on ad-hoc basis in the University.  The UGC officials were sympathetic to the demand but told the delegation that the matter has to be addressed at the level of the Ministry. 2) Implementation of the requirement of PhD as minimum qualification for appointment in University w.e.f. 1.7.2021, which has resulted in the displacement of several adhoc teachers working in Departments and led to the breakdown of teaching-learning processes in Departments.  The DUTA delegation demanded urgent intervention on the matter.
