Press Statement of MHSA on the Hathras horror

Press Statement of MHSA on the Hathras horror The rape, brutalising and systemic murder of a young Dalit woman at the hands of four upper caste men in Hathras has filled us with a sense of deep shock, grief and rage. We are equally shocked and angered by the negligence of the state administration and its subsequent attempts to conceal the episode, and further, to muzzle expressions of protest against such barbarity. The MHSA stands in solidarity with the grieving family, condemns the abuse of power by the state machinery, and demands that the constitutional promise of an equitable and just India be upheld.     -- Miranda House Staff Association Get regular DUTA updates.
