This unfortunate decision is putting into jeopardy the livelihood of 4500 adhoc teachers who form the backbone of the University. DUTA Letter to Staff Associations: DUTA decides to go on an Indefinite Strike from 4 December

DUTA decides to go on an Indefinite Strike from 4 December To President/Secretary/Office Bearers Staff Associations _________________ _________________ 29.11.2019 Dear colleagues, The Delhi University Principals' Association (DUPA) has reportedly decided to put joining of ad-hoc teachers and disbursal of their salaries in abeyance, in its meeting held today. Their decision is on the basis of 28 August 2019 DU circular which mandates that only appointment of guest teachers can be made against substantive vacancies arising for the first time in the current academic session. The DUTA finds it completely unacceptable that the Vice Chancellor, through the 28 August letter, denies appointment of full time teachers on adhoc vacancies till positions can be filled on permanent basis.  The DUTA has been protesting against this unacceptable letter and has been demanding its withdrawal. The DUTA views this letter as an attack on the stability of the University and t

This had already created a difficult situation for colleges. Following this letter, new vacancies arising from retirement/resignation have been ke

DUTA Letter to VC: 20.11.2019 reg. AR Letter to Colleges Professor Yogesh Tyagi                                                                                                          20.11.2019 Vice Chancellor University of Delhi Dear Professor Tyagi, As you may know, the Assistant Registrar (Colleges) has sent a mail to all colleges for collecting booth level data from teachers without stating purpose. We apprehend that the data would be used by the office of the Election Commission to assign election duties to teachers in the forthcoming Delhi Assembly Elections. As such, the teachers of Delhi University are overburdened with their primary obligations of teaching, conducting examinations and evaluating scripts along with other routine activities of college life. The election duties would not only hamper the teaching-learning process but also adversely affect the students who are studying in the semester mode. Teachers are also engaged in research work and

The delegation comprised of Rajib Ray, President FEDCUTA and DUTA, D.K. Lobiyal, Secretary of FEDCUTA and President, JNUTA and Majid Jamil, Treasurer of FEDCUTA and Secretary of Jamia Teachers' Association. DUTA: Appeal to Staff Associations to send resolutions by 22 Nov; DUTA GBM on 25 Nov To President/Secretary/Office Bearers Staff Association __________________ __________________ 17.11.2019 Dear colleagues, The DUTA Executive held on 16.11.2019 decided to take forward the struggle.  The 28 August DU letter has created grave situation by increasing uncertainties for our colleagues working on ad-hoc basis and causing collapse of teaching across colleges/depts on the other hand. Many teachers in the Department were denied joining by the University, even when they were hired through due processes by Departments this semester. The illegal DU letter of 28 August, displacement of ad-hoc teachers on account of EWS reservation, delayed promotions resulting in stagnation for last 10 years, illegal recoveries, assault on service conditions of Physical Education teachers and denial of pension need immediate resolution. We can't wait any longer! The DUTA Executive
